As for Mr Ong, he was appointed Non-Resident Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran. He is currently Ambassador-at-Large in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Executive Deputy Chairman of the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies and Director of the School’s Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies.

Mr Ong is also Singapore’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the press release stated.

From a strategic point of view, countries like Pakistan and Iran have little value to the mighty Singapore. They should consider themselves lucky that we even bother to have a non-resident ambassador to their backward countries.

India and Egypt both have screwed up systems and moral beliefs. So, they can continue to exist for the next few hundred years and still be poor and wretched places to live and be born in.

Iran possess the most powerful military in the middle east with the exception of Saudi arabia .it is also the most powerful sovereign country.Iran's president is a impressive witty and intelligent man.iran plays a prominent role in oil and politics and is the only country US is afraid of.it is not Iran that's of no strategic importance, it is singapore .when abdudenneja speaks USA and the world listens.when Singapore speaks others tell it to be quiet and stop being a spoilt brat.

with technology, sg can always set up a telepresence office in teheran. there's no need to risk life and limbs in a remote cuntry where few transactions are made, except inserting an intell post on behalf of mossad and uncle sam. :p
