Great show. Well-directed, well-cast, well-acted, and a credible plot. Solid performances by Zhou Xun, Li Bingbing and veteran Zhang Hanyu. Even pretty boy Huang Xiaoming pulled off his Kempeitai role surprisingly well.

Yeah, Zhou Xun is definitely more chio than say, her contemporary Zhao Wei, eg. contrast is clearest when they both acted alongside each other in "Painted Skin" (you know, the movie where as usual, Donnie Yen kills the only Singaporean actor in the movie, Qi YiWu aka Mr 715).
