59 year old Yong Kian Khim molested a 17 year old girl who had kindly helped him cross an overhead bridge in Bukit Timah after seeing that he had a walking difficulty
The incident happened in the afternoon on April 10.
The teen had been supporting Yong as they walked down the stairs of the overheard bridge when he swiped her breast and stroked it. At the time, the girl did not let go of him as she was afraid that he would fall so she kept quiet until they got to the bottom of the steps.
When she had agreed to help the man, Yong had also hugged and kissed the victim on the cheek despite her resistance.
At one point, Yong had tightly held onto the girls waits and pressed his body against her and tried to kiss her on the lips. The girl broke free and called her boyfriend who then came and called the police.
Yong pleaded guilty to the charge of using criminal force to outrage the girl’s modesty and he was sentenced to three months jail.
The court also heard that the man had been involved in a similar offence of forcibly putting his arms around the shoulders of a 20 year old girl on a public bus in September last year.
Yong who is jobless, had no prior offences. He could have faced a maximum sentence of 2 years jail and a fine.
