The mother of an Indonesian woman killed and dismembered by her Brisbane chef partner has said she was stunned by the horrific crime but she had forgiven him.
Mayang Prasetyo, 27, a transgender prostitute, allegedly died at the hands of her partner Marcus Volke, 27, who took his own life shortly after police found the woman's remains at their Teneriffe unit on Saturday.
Ms Mayang's mother Nining Sukarni said she was struggling to comprehend that her eldest child's "kind and soft" partner had committed such a terrible act.
But despite her grief Ms Nining said she had forgiven him and reached out to his family.
Ms Mayang identified as a girl throughout her childhood but her mother still refers to her as her son Febri Andriansyah.
"My message for Marcus's family is let's forgive each other," Ms Nining told Fairfax Media.
"Please forgive Febri if he did things that anger Marcus or his family. I forgave Marcus for whatever he has done to Febri.
"I hope Marcus's mum and the whole family be strengthened in this difficult time."
[h=2]Prayer service held in Bail[/h]Ms Nining said she had no plans to come to Australia and would wait for her child's remains to be returned to Indonesia.

"I'll just wait here - I asked the Indonesian government to bring back his remains as soon as possible - I will bury him here," she said.
Ms Mayang was the eldest of three girls and sent money home to Indonesia to support her single mother and and pay for her sisters' education.
A prayer service was held in Bail on Tuesday night at the home where Ms Mayang recently lived.
Neighbours and members of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community attended.
A friend, who gave his name as Albert, said: "We never expected she would end up like this and that her boyfriend would have the heart to do that."
When she last spoke to Ms Mayang on Thursday, Ms Nining said she had been restless in Brisbane.
Ms Nining said she told her not to fight with Volke whom Ms Mayang had met while working on a cruise ship.
Ms Nining says Ms Mayang sought her blessing before they married abroad in 2013 and the couple had visited her home in Bandar Lampung, Sumatra, last year.

"He was a kind person, cheerful, warm to people, effervescent, always going from here to there," Ms Nining said.
Volke fled from the couple's unit when police arrived on Saturday night to investigate reports from neighbours of a foul stench.
Officers found Ms Mayang's dismembered remains inside the unit but police have not confirmed reports Volke had been cooking a part of his girlfriend on a stove top when they arrived at the scene.
Volke's body was later discovered in a nearby industrial bin where it is believed he took his own life.
Police believe Ms Mayang was killed and dismembered by Volke in the Commercial Road apartment some time last week.
Post-mortem examinations are underway.

[h=1]Knife-wielding home invader hit by car while fleeing scene, WA police say[/h] Updated
Map: Westminster 6061

A knife-wielding home invader who punched a woman in the face has been hit by one or more vehicles on a highway after fleeing the scene, police say.
The man allegedly smashed a window as he entered a home in the eastern Perth suburb of Westminster armed with a knife just after 7:00am today.
The occupant, who heard the sound of glass breaking, confronted him and he punched her in the face before escaping.
The woman received a minor injury from the punch.
Police believe the man was then struck by one or more vehicles after he ran into traffic on Reid Highway.
He was seriously injured and taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
Part of the highway was closed for some time earlier today.

The 36-year-old man from Southport allegedly fired a shot at a car in Anne Street, Southport, during a disturbance on Christmas Eve.
He retreated to a unit complex on nearby White Street, prompting a lengthy stand-off with police which ended peacefully only after he surrendered about 11am on Christmas Day.
The man allegedly made threats to police, the property and himself during the ordeal and is also accused of firing another shot from the unit using a modified gun.
He was on Thursday charged with attempted murder, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful possession of a weapon.
The man allegedly forced another man into a vehicle against his will during the initial disturbance on Anne Street, resulting in a deprivation of liberty charge.
He spent the remainder of Christmas Day in custody after being taken to the Southport watch house.
The man is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Friday morning, where he could also face additional charges.
The are expected to include wilful damage, unlawful possession of explosive material, keeping a declared animal and going armed as to cause fear.

Rodney Scarman, 52, was savagely beaten to death and found inside an electrical cupboard in Waterloo about 4.30am on Boxing Day, 2011.
The murder resulted from a drug transaction gone wrong, police say.
Now, the family have again appealed for information about his death.
"It's torturing to my mind, emotionally it's agonising," an emotional Ms Turner told reporters on Friday.
"I hope one day we have some closure to move on."
An autopsy showed he had suffered significant injuries to most of his body.
Mr Scarman had been dumped in a communal area of the Walker Street unit block.
He was last seen a few hours earlier in an agitated state on nearby streets.
"Christmas isn't the same for us anymore," Ms Turner said in Sydney as her children Kaly and Beau stood by for support.
She held Mr Scarman's funeral card while remembering her gentle, quiet and artistic brother.
"It's difficult to sleep, nightmares, wondering who's out there and if they might do this somebody else," she said.
"I am pleading with people to look into their conscience and have the courage to come forward."
Superintendent Luke Freudentstein said fear or misguided loyalty was holding people back from giving information.
Police were confident people in the Redfern community had knowledge of what happened that night.
"I'm pleading for the sake of the family...and for justice," he said.
"In an undignified manner he was stuffed in a cupboard.
"Imagine if it was your family."
It's believed the attack was not targeted, he said, but related to a drug transaction gone wrong.
Police will accompany the Turner family while they letterbox drop flyers with their plea on Friday.

[h=1]Mother sentenced for failing to protect daughters from sexual abuse by their father[/h] By Joanna Menagh
Updated about an hour agoSat 17 Jan 2015, 9:37am
Map: Perth 6000

A West Australian woman has been sentenced to three years' jail over the sexual abuse of her three daughters by their father.
The 56-year-old mother of seven cannot be named to protect the identity of the girls.
She pleaded guilty to three charges of performing an indecent act with her husband while her eldest daughter, aged about 16 or 17, was present.
She was helpless and unable to do anything.

William Chesnutt, mother's lawyer

She also pleaded guilty to a further three charges of failing to act to protect all three girls from being harmed.
The District Court was told the eldest girl was abused by her father over many years, and around the time of the offences involving her mother was sleeping naked in her parents' bed.
She left the family's Wheatbelt farm when she turned 18, and over the next seven years the father abused the two younger girls.
The offences came to light when the middle daughter went to police in 2013.
The woman's lawyer, William Chesnutt, said his client was in a "hopeless and helpless situation ... trapped in an isolated place, in an abusive relationship with a domineering husband".
"She was helpless and unable to do anything," he said.
Mr Chesnutt said the woman did not have a driver's licence and was "100 per cent dependent on her husband".
He also said she feared if she did anything she would lose her home and her children.
[h=2]Mother should have known about abuse: judge[/h]Judge Stephen Scott described the indecent acts performed by the woman in the presence of her eldest daughter as "revolting, appalling and utterly repulsive".
He said from those events, the woman must have been aware the girl was being abused, and also must have known the other two girls "were at grave risk of being abused in the same way".
"I know you said your husband promised he wouldn't touch the other girls," Justice Scott said.
"I don't know how you could have accepted that at face value: the likelihood is it was just too hard for you."
Judge Scott said while the woman may not have specifically known the two girls were being abused, she should have realised they were at risk.
"Children have a right to to be safe in the home," he said.
"Children never deserve to be sexually abused by their parents.
"Parents have an obligation to protect their children as best they can."
The woman will have to serve 18 months before she can be released on parole.
The father is due to appear in court at a later date.

Hypo, what are you still doing in W Australia ? It is going to be tough 2015 to 2016. Thanks to mineral boom transition to bust last year.

Expect crime to go up and up soon.

My friend Gorgan company are not renewing the FIFO contracts for two-third of the staff because project move to operational stage. Only one technican managed to move over to a canadian company, TransAlta in Perth. Salary $150,000. That is a pay cut.

Can always go West Africa to join the Ebola fever. 3 months on. 1 month off.

There are few local job opportunites, need guanxi to get into a job these days. Better to set up your own biz.

[h=1]Alleged Irish crime gang to be deported after roof-fixing scam exposed[/h] Date
January 23, 2015

[h=3]Steve Holland[/h]
C:\Users\VALUED~1\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image001.jpg

Vehicles linked to the roof-fixing scam are removed from Hazelmere's Banksia Tourist Park.
It reads like the script of a Guy Ritchie film, except the setting's not quite right.
A group of Irish men, women and children, travel to Australia and set up camp at a hot, dry caravan park on the outskirts of Perth, a far cry from the green pastures of their homeland.
Now they're in detention, all 26 of them, awaiting deportation – accused of running a roof-fixing scam that targeted the vulnerable, including elderly women.
A woman from the Banksia Tourist Park, in Hazelemere, said the group was "lovely to deal with" but said her thoughts on them had changed after hearing about the alleged involvement in the roof scam.
"Thank God they're gone," she said.
The caravan park's staff were tight-lipped and flustered on Friday, the day after the Irish were arrested, threatening to call the police and report Fairfax Media for trespassing.
C:\Users\VALUED~1\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image002.jpg

Banksia Tourist Park in Hazelmere.
Residents of the caravan park were also told not to speak with the media.
But outside the caravan park, one man said police were continuing with their investigations at the shed-like cabins where the Irish stayed.
He said he didn't know the Irish group, consisting of five men, two 17-year-old boys and 19 women and children, because they apparently kept a low profile.
A few minutes later a tow truck emerged from the park, lugging utes loaded with trade equipment.
Police had already uncovered $120,000 in cash and two Rolex watches, worth about $36,000.
It seems the Banksia Tourist Park is a good place for those wishing to maintain a degree of anonymity.
"They kept to themselves, I keep to myself," another of the park's residents said.
But he got to know them long enough to experience a taste of the charm they exuded.
"Yeah, they were nice, nice enough," he grunted before driving off down Midland Road in his ute.
This story would not seem so unusual had it taken place in the United Kingdom where Irish gangs have achieved a degree of notoriety, escalating into world-wide infamy following the release of the Guy Ritchie film, Snatch.
But Alina Cavanagh, spokeswoman for the Department of Commerce, said she had received numerous reports of conmen with Irish accents attempting to fleece Australian home owners.
She said it appeared Australians were more susceptible to travelling conmen than people in the UK.
"It seems that Australians are very trusting," she said.
Ms Cavanagh said it was quite common for Irish gangs to travel to Australia and set up at caravan parks before running cons.
"The roofs have been a favourite in this instance," she said.
"There have been years where we have seen constant driveway laying scams. They were 'bitumen bandits'."
Ms Cavanaugh, who has worked with the department for the past five years, said this group was different.
"This is the first time we've had such a big gang operating in WA and hopefully the arrests send a strong message to travelling conmen and stops them coming to Perth," she said.
Consumer Protection has received 29 reports of travelling conmen since a warning was issued on January 14.
In one incident, a consumer paid $17,000 for his driveway and home to be painted. The conmen painted his driveway, then left and never returned to finish the work.
In another, it's suspected conmen damaged roof tiles and photographed the damage before showing the pictures to the home owner. They were paid $5,000 to fix the roof. But the work was unsatisfactory.
And an 82-year-old homeowner paid $1800 for roof painting, but only minor work was carried out even though the resident was accompanied to the bank to withdraw the cash
These are just a few examples of numerous incidents involving conmen who move from the state to state, from Western Australia to New South Wales, targeting unsuspecting victims.
Police spokesman Samuel Dinnison said the alleged Hazelmere gang attracted attention after allegedly approaching elderly women about house repairs.
"Just over a week ago WA Police detected a spike in complaints from mainly elderly people regarding people approaching them about home renovation work," Mr Dinnison said.
"The information was handed over to the Department of Commerce, who immediately issued a public warning in relation to the complaints.
"Behind the scenes, a police investigation continued, which resulted in a search warrant being executed at a caravan park in Hazelmere."
Anne Driscoll, Commissioner for Consumer Protection, has warned home-owners to be wary of people who approach houses and businesses to do maintenance work.
"These convincing con artists will portray themselves as genuine, friendly tradesmen who want to do you a favour, when in truth they are out to take your money and have little conscience," she said.
"Although they often target older Western Australians, people with a disability, full-time mums or carers, or residents who speak little or no English, no one is immune.
"Tens of thousands of dollars are lost to these dodgy dealers every year."

[h=1]Australia in the grip of an ice epidemic with makeshift labs leaving a toxic legacy[/h] By the National Reporting Team's Lorna Knowles and Alison McClymont

Australia is in the grip of an ice epidemic and hundreds of clandestine drug labs are springing up around the country each year, in suburban homes, motels and even in car boots and trucks.
Authorities warn the labs are leaving a toxic legacy, with meth cooks contaminating properties with a cocktail of deadly chemicals and dumping the waste in national parks and waterways.
Just last year police across the nation raided nearly 750 meth labs and they predict this figure will increase dramatically in 2015.
Detective Inspector Michael Cook, head of the chemical operations team for the NSW Police Drug Squad, said labs were often found in rural areas, but they had also been discovered in motel rooms, shipping containers, boots of cars and on the back of trucks.
Do you know more about this story? Email [email protected]
"Over the past six years we have seen a doubling in the number of clandestine laboratories in NSW and the size of the labs are getting much larger," Inspector Cook said.
Photo: Inspector Cook said for every kilogram of ice produced, there was 10 kilograms of toxic waste. (ABC News)
"We are seeing larger and larger enterprises with tens of kilos of drugs being able to be produced at any one time.
"There's been an increase because the profits are just so great in the sale of these drugs in comparison to the costs involved in creating the drugs."
While the devastating effects of ice on users are well known, police are also concerned about the toxic legacy of meth labs on residents and the environment.
"One of my people was severely injured as a result of the work undertaken in a lab where their tear ducts in their eyes were burnt," Inspector Cook said.
"The young police officer had to resign from the police as a result of her injuries."
Inspector Cook said that for every kilogram of ice produced, there was 10 kilograms of toxic waste.
[h=2]Meth cooks dumping waste in national parks and waterways[/h] Meth cooks are not only contaminating properties - police have also caught them dumping the chemical waste in national parks and waterways.
"Many drug manufacturers hang on to that waste. They accumulate it and sometime later they will dump that into some bushland or they will put it in drums and dump the drums on the side of the road," Inspector Cook said.
"We've had many instances of drums located containing meth waste on the side of the road. There was incident about four years ago now in south-western Sydney where a large truck carrying tens of thousands of clan lab [clandestine laboratory] waste emptied the contents overnight into a local creek."
The manufacturing of the drug is so toxic that houses used as meth labs cannot be occupied until the property is professionally cleaned. Some houses are so contaminated they have to be bulldozed.
"We would maybe see six to 10 properties per year demolished," Inspector Cook said.
It is a booming business for cleaners who specialise in remediating meth labs.
[h=2]Four Corners: Ice Rush[/h]
C:\Users\VALUED~1\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtml1\01\clip_image002.jpg

Four Corners investigates the rising use of the drug ice in rural areas of Australia.
Ahmad Merhi is head technician at the Sydney-based cleaning company Living Fresh.
"Originally when we did meth labs say three years ago we probably did about 20 in our first year," Mr Merhi said.
"Last year we probably did about 50. This year we're expecting about 200, maybe even more. We are being called on a weekly basis to clean up a house where there was a meth lab."
Under Australian Government guidelines, after police have raided a meth lab, they must report the property to the local council.
A council environmental officer will then issue the owner with a "pollution control" order, requiring them to engage an occupational hygienist to assess the level of contamination.
A cleaner is then hired to remediate the property and this can cost anywhere between $25,000 and $150,000.
Mr Merhi uses a product called Crystal Clean, a decontamination foam developed in the United States more than 10 years ago to kill anthrax which was found in an envelope mailed to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle in 2001.
Several suites in the Hart Senate Office Building were contaminated by the anthrax powder and hundreds of Senate staff evacuated the building. It was months before they returned to their suites.

[h=1]Father cons Centrelink with ‘sick son’[/h]
  • 8 hours ago January 26, 2015 2:18PM

A BANGLEDESHI immigrant has conned Centrelink out of tens of thousands of dollars by faking reports claiming his young son was seriously ill. Mohammed Hasan admitted cheating the welfare system by pocketing a carer’s payment for his young son.
He claimed a carer’s payment for almost two years before he was busted for claiming his son had a hole in his heart.
He was granted carer allowance and carer payment in January 2012, claiming his son was “unable to move around indoors or outdoors by himself and was completely dependent”.
He claimed his son required “his airways cleared through suctioning, three or more times each day and two or more times at night” and that he was fed by a tube.
He also claimed he needed emergency medication for his son’s seizures several times each month.
By October 2013, Centrelink stopped payments, saying it believed doctors letters he submitted were fraudulent.
In November 2014, Mr Hasan was convicted of six counts of using a forged document with the intention that it be accepted as genuine by a Commonwealth official.
Mr Hasan pleaded guilty to all charges and was fined and placed on good behaviour bonds.
Details of his forgeries were revealed in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, where he was fighting the Department of Social Services to reinstate his carer’s payments.
His conviction related to reports from two doctors Mr Hasan gave to Centrelink — dated July 2013 and November 2012.
The doctors told the Tribunal that they didn’t write the reports or diagnose the child with congenital heart disease. They both said the signatures on the reports were not their own.
Mr Hasan also presented two other medical reports diagnosing his son with heart disease, claiming to be from doctors in Bangladesh.
Administrative Appeals Tribunal senior member Jill Toohey found that those reports “appear to have been cut and pasted”.
Mr Hasan claimed “he misunderstood the questions on the (Centrelink) forms and some of his answers on the first two (Centrelink) forms were made by mistake”.
Mr Hasan is still pursuing another claim in the Tribunal for a Disability Support Claim (DSP). His case returns to court on March 16 and 17.
His wife has dropped her claim for a DSP.
Ms Toohey said Mr Hasan “left the (hearing) room and did not return” during his evidence.
“He was generally uncooperative and argumentative. He claimed he could not recall matters such as whether a signature on a document was his, and he refused to answer a number of questions,” Ms Toohey said.
She found the only condition the boy suffered from was a “moderate developmental delay”.
