A primary school teacher from a primary school in Jurong West was sentenced to 1 year in jail and three strokes of the cane for molesting an eight year old student of his.
The eight year old girl was in his weekend tuition class when he told her to go to the back of the room to do some reading.

He followed the young girl to the back of the classroom and instructed the rest of the students to continue with their work.

At the back of the room, he proceeded to touch the girl's private parts through her clothes, while the rest of the class was unaware.

The incident occurred on October 19 last year.

The teacher pleaded guilty to the charge of molesting the child.

Pay is just one aspect of job satisfaction. I personally do not like jobs where I need to be held responsible for the well-being of another human being, so I refuse be a teacher. Same for a nurse, a social worker etc.
