Well said Gordon Anderson. It's good to see someone that appreciates what the PAP is doing for Singaporeans. Sadly it takes a foreigner to recognise just how good the Singapore government is.
I welcome Mr Anderson to come here to convert his british passport for spore passport and put his money where his mouth is.

If you are incapable of earning a decent wage, it's not the fault of the PAP. It's your own fault.
PAP doesn't even have a high minimum wage for a decent wage like other first world countries. It is their fault. The most expensive city has such low wage how can? Yet PAP still doesn't want to do anything about it. Because there is no high minimum wage, the employees can hire FTs with low wages. And then, PAP still want to being in more FTs to compete with sinkies for the low wage. Then there is the NS reservist that makes employees prefer to hire ang mohs. PAP give themselves such high pay yet doesn't care about the low minimum wage for lots of people.
Foreigners create jobs for Singaporeans. If Singapore didn't allow productive foreigners into the country, the overall unemployment rate amongst sinkies would be far higher.
Foreigners create more low wage jobs for sinkies, and this perpetuate the low wage system. As sinkiepore gets more expensive to live in, the low wage would only cause sinkies to get poorer. PAP does nothing to close the rich-poor income gap. It only gives GST offset vouchers.
It is not the government's job to close the rich-poor gap. It is up to the poor to close the rich-poor gap. They need to buckle down and get to work.
The government has cause the rich-poor gap to be so wide in the first place. It is their fault and they should fix it. If the government cannot fix this they should not be the government.
There is nothing to fix. The so called "poor" in Singapore are actually very comfortable by international standards. The wide rich-poor gap in Singapore is a result of the fact that the rich in Singapore are extremely wealthy.
This is because the government encourages hard work and enterprise and rewards those who have made it in life. That's the way it should be. The gold medal always goes to the fastest man in the race not the one who comes last.
There has to be a distinction between the lame and the lazy when it comes to people competing in the race. Our society has the resources to be benevolent to those for fare worse due to life's circumstances. There is no need to reward winners over and above what they deserve in the game of life. They will simply squander it away on frivolous things like luxury cars, empty houses and mistresses.
You think that the race is fair but it is not. With such a low wage, increased living and home costs, increased competition from FTs and NS reservist restrictions, it is hard for anyone to go far in the race to get rich.

if an old sinkie hag can save $400k (but lost it all to scammers) cleaning tables, so can you. instead of stashing her cash savings under her pillow and in bins, she would be better off if she safekept all her savings with the cpf. cpf is da bestest!
