Blogger Roy Ngerng misled PM Lee, public a second time: Davinder Singh



In the letter sent to Nr Ngerng's lawyer, Mr M. Ravi, Mr Lee's lawyer said that the first time Mr Ngerng misled the Prime Minister and the public "was when he gave his apology and undertaking on 23 May 2014 when he had no intention of honouring them".

Mr Davinder Singh then went on to say that Mr Ngerng once again misled the Prime Minister and the public when he said, through his lawyer, that he would remove the YouTube video, but did not do so.

"Despite his promise...the YouTube video has not been removed. It has instead been privatised. In other words, your client continues to make it available to a select group of people."

Mr Singh said: "We learnt of two emails which appear to have been sent by your client, one to many people, including members of the local and international media, and the other to a blind list."

He said that these emails "republish the YouTube video and the offending posts, but this time to a far wider audience. They also notified the addressees of where they could continue to read some of the offending posts after 5pm yesterday."

He mentioned that "those emails also assert that your client's allegation against our client is 'the truth' and that our client has complained about the offending posts 'to eliminate the evidence of the corruption' from your client's blog".

Mr Davinder asked Mr Ravi to write back before 5pm on Tuesday to inform him if Mr Ravi knew whether Mr Ngerng had intended to remove the offending YouTube video, and whether Mr Ngerng did send the two emails.

He said that Mr Lee reserves his right to recover aggravated damages.

Roy Ngerng offers to pay $5,000

Mr Ngerng disclosed on his blog on Tuesday that he has sent a lawyer's letter to Mr Lee, offering to pay $5,000 damages "with each party to bear their own costs". The sum is based on Mr Ngerng's "modest living and income" as a health-care worker.

Now, LHL through his bayi lawyer claims that he was misled. How? The post was taken off, the video taken down. That's not enough. God cannot even please LHL, given his changing demands.

This bayi just humtum. Roy did take down the videos.

LHL now wants Roy to become gatekeeper of the internet.
Interestingly, how does LHL know or conclude that Roy pass the vidoes to some people? ISD resources being used here to do the PM's personal affairs.

Nobody Roy should just let LHL sue and defend himself in court. Show the world the kangaroo court in action. Nobody Roy has nothing to lose ...he acceded to LHL demands and more demands come up. And then the list of accusations get thrown.

If LHL think he has a case, then file the lawsuit in a jurisdiction that has an independent court.

You can order the taking down of content... we'll just put it up again.

It's like viral videos or leaked homemade porn clips... once they're online, they stay there for good.

As I said, time to run away like Gopalan Nair and tang liang hong. They will declare you guilty but at least you can still live.

His father's time, once something is published on paper, you can recall with receipt. Like publish run 1,000 copies in print, take back 1,000 - physically count 1,000 copies. Now how to do so? Any 5 year old will tell you virtually impossible. This is just an excuse to tekan dissidents.

There are some who cannot afford the hospice who will want to pass new ones to him, his man-wife and 18 generations of Lee family.

Hard for them to let go of the hatred of getting conned from the highest level of the people they trust. Remember those people believe that a educated person is good and trustworthy. That is why education is valued.
