In the tragedy of the south Korea incident, many died because the captain was among the first to abandon the ship. What's worst is that the passengers were told to stay on board.

I can imagine a scenario where Sporeans is in trouble & the PM asking the people to protect Spore while he & his family run road.

Reap in retail rental income before a mall is completed?
That's what a mall's soft opening is for. Happens all the time in rent-seeking SG Inc. :wink:
Most of the shop space still boarded up and not open for business, cement packs stacked here and there, tiling not complete, level 2 still inaccessible etc.
