Police say Pinoys never applied for permit for their National Day event

I am not sure whether the Police is to be believed. How can this PIDCS even start advertising for the event when they don't even have a police permit yet? Something fishy here.

No permit application received for Philippine Independence Day celebration: Police -

No permit application has been received for a planned Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 8, said the police on Tuesday.

In a statement, the police said event organisers have not shared any plans related to the event with the authorities either as of 10am on Tuesday.

The Pilipino Independence Day Council Singapore (PIDCS) is in charge of organising the celebration, which it plans to hold at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.

Organisers withdrew a Facebook post about the celebration last week after it received hundreds of comments protesting against the event, but have said they plan to go ahead with the festivities if they get approval from the authorities.

(a) to overawe by criminal force, or show of criminal force, the Legislative or Executive Government, or any public servant in the exercise of the lawful power of such public servant;
(b) to resist the execution of any law, or of any legal process;
(c) to commit any mischief or criminal trespass, or other offence;
(d) by means of criminal force, or show of criminal force, to any person, to take or obtain possession of any property, or to deprive any person of the enjoyment of a right of way, or of the use of water or other incorporeal right of which he is in possession or enjoyment, or to enforce any right or supposed right; or

The punishment for being a member of an unlawful assembly is imprisonment of up to six months, or a fine, or both.

I think will close one eye and let their celebration go on.

Reasons:

1) no enough cell to keep so many people;
2) to prosecute and deport them, a lot of family would be without maid and they would KPKB also
3) the 1000 additional man and woman not recruited yet.

The Pinoys are just having a party. They aren't protesting against anything so this law does not apply to them.

From the PIDCS Facebook page, the Pinoys have organized the same event at Hong Lim Park and Suntec Atrium in previous years.

Had they also applied for a permit for those? Either answer 'yes' or 'no' condemns them.

1) Yes - then why did you not apply for a permit for this year's event? Forgot? But this isn't the first inaugural event. Or you just don't want to apply for one?

2) No - then how did the authorities not notice this? Why Gilbert Goh and the others need to apply for a permit at Hong Lim Park, and you Pinoys didn't need to?

However if a group of Singaporeans gather at McDonald's for a hamburger, it's perfectly acceptable because they're just there to eat and socialise,
