I am as credible as you are.

You take some cases and blow it up into a national tragedy. If it is a national tragedy, there should be riots there.

The pensions there are many times more than the CPF savings of sinkees. Look at the median, not average income of retirees.

You have a better chance of retiring comfortably in other developed countries, than in sinkapore, because of pension.

If Singaporeans were in the deep shit that you're constantly harping over, there'd be riots there too. The fact that even the protests are pathetic affairs shows that the majority are happy and content.

Singaporeans have learnt to live with it, and are surviving in spite of the system. Politically aware Singaporeans must therefore initiate a political struggle to improve the system. Merely getting by and being better in some respects compared to other countries is simply not good enough. If there is rot in the system, its is the responsibility of Singaporeans to deal with the rot. Thus far, you have touted how good Singapore is, but offered nothing in the way to show that there is no rot in the system. But not only is there rot, it will get bigger if we leave it alone, and therefore it is matter of urgency.

The rot begins with failed immigration and population policies, foreigners taking over our space and our jobs, Singaporeans forced to bend down to serve foreigners, CPF failure, failure of govt to control the cost of living and property, cheapening of the Singapore identity, political cronyism, People's Association, and so much more, more than enough issues to keep your forum alive for many years to come.

This should be a separate thread altogether. How many have used the lease buyback scheme to help fund their retirement?

lease buy back and the folks living in their need to fork out another sum to get a roof over their heads? how much funds actually left for retirement? 治标不治本。zero sum game. peasants still stuck in the rut.

Precisely.

The first step is to recognize the govt has failed us. We can't proceed unless we succeed in taking the first step.
