Man arrested for allegedly selling info on police movements to crime syndicates

SINGAPORE: A 47-year-old man has been caught for allegedly providing and selling information on movement of police vehicles to crime syndicates operating in Geylang.
Officers seized two binoculars, one telescope and two handsets from him.
The suspect was arrested around Cantonment Police Complex.
He was among 159 caught during a joint operation on 2 October 2013 involving raids at Lorong 14, Lorong 16 and Lorong 24 in Geylang.
Investigations against the suspect are ongoing.
During the police operation, another 18 communication devices, as well as a motorised bicycle believed to have been used to keep surveillance on police work and hinder enforcement actions, were seized.
Twelve of those arrested will be charged in court on March 12.
Six of the 12 will be charged with intentionally obstructing justice, three with helping to run a brothel, and three with both offences.
Investigations against the remaining suspects are ongoing. - CNA/gn
