Hi, I cannot help, but notice in my regular interactions with incumbent Singaporeans - that many, many localy-borned Indians (who have the ability) ,..seems to have made arrangements to move out of Singapore, to Australia, UK, USA, Canada,...

Local Chinese, Eurasian kids who are unable to qualify for Local Schloarships - end up overseas, WITH schloarships and remain outside of Singapore, not to return.

Other better-heeled Singaporeans,..also pan to move out,....

Is this the reason that the Govt. has no other choice, but to open up the national flood-gates, and allow entry of talents of all kinds into Singapore ?

Thank You

I think that's very ironic. The government IS the reason why so many people are leaving Singapore. If the govt feels it has no choice then but to import others to replace, it is a fcuking stupid government, as this does not solve the root problem. People, even the new ones, will continue to leave ... and you can't keep importing forever.

So it should solve the root problem and change, so that the exodus is reduced, so that it DOES NOT have to keep importing people.

I doubt if this is confined to any particular nationality or race.

In today's world, the talented are extremely mobile simply because their skills are universal and can be utilised in any country.

The interconnected world allows those with skills that are demand to seek out greener pastures with a few clicks. The headhunters can do the same thing when looking for suitable candidates. That's what websites such as Linkedin.com specialise in.

My Kiwi neighbor's son is off to London on a 3 year contract with an ad agency. He was tracked down via Linkedin. The interview was conducted via Skype. That's how things work in this day and age.

If you want to hire me, you'll be making a big mistake.
