Question : Missed calls from "private number" vs "(no number)" on your mobile phone.

The former is common enough (just pay your telco for extra services to have your number unlisted), but the latter appears to be more uncommon.

Does anyone know the different circumstances leading to "private number" vs "(no number)" being listed as missed calls on your mobile phone? Or is it just a technical glitch?

"No number" listings can be calls from overseas numbers not picked up by local telcos, public phones or numbers using overseas discount calling "credit" cards where you pay a cheaper rate such as VoIP.

Any number that calls and and that there is an indication it is "PRIVATE" or "BLOCKED", just simply do not answer.
No big deal. Because if it really is an important call or something urgent, then the person would leave a message.
I notice that they never do.
