30 arrested for drug, secret society-related offences

SINGAPORE - A 22-hour operation by police officers from the Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) netted a total of 30 persons for offences related to drugs, secret society, illegal gambling, and other criminal offences
The joint effort, led by the officers from Ang Mo Kio police division, resulted in more than $2,800 worth of drugs being seized, including about 24 grams of heroin, 3 Erimin-5 tablets and a small amount of 'Ice'. SCDF also detected fire safety violations at two public entertainment outlets.
A separate island-wide operation conducted by the CNB from May 27 to May 31 saw CNB officers arresting a total of 88 suspected drug offenders.
Drugs worth more than $11,400 were seized, including about 47 grams of heroin, 31 grams of 'Ice', 7 Ecstasy tablets and a small amount of ketamine.
In a statement on Friday, the police revealed that investigations against the persons arrested are ongoing , and the respective agencies are following up on the violations and offences detected.
