man slashed in geylang by 3 youths

A man was slashed multiple times at Geylang on Thursday evening, leaving a long trail of blood. He had apparently been followed by three youths earlier.

Lianhe Wanbao reported that the man had walked into the compound of HighPoint Community Services Association at Lorong 23 Geylang.

Three youths were seen following him.

Later, the man in his 30s was spotted crawling out from behind the building to the open air carpark by a security guard. He left a long trail of blood.

The man had suffered multiple slash wounds on his head and body.

There was also another case of violence in the area on Friday morning.

A brawl had broken out between two groups of men at a coffeeshop at the junction of Guillermard Road and Lorong 12 Geylang.

One man has been hospitalised with slash wounds, while nine are on the run from police. A total of 14 men were involved in the fight.

yeap. as a local I find this place worse than JB. nowadays slashings, murders, fightings, loan sharks harrassments, suicides , even car jackings(ah tiong car jack at airport killed cleaner and plead insanity and get only a light snetence. this is bull sh!t ) everywhere. expect more when pop hit 6.9m.

Rubbish! The crime rate has been steadily dropping over the years. Singapore is one of the safest places on earth. Hats off to the SPF for doing a fantastic job of keeping us secure and comfortable.

The man slashed multiple times at Geylang on Thursday evening suffered another blow when his wife said she wanted a divorce.

Mr Huang Zhimin, a dealer in mobile phone parts, had been followed by three youths and he was later found badly injured.

Fortunately, the 34-year-old was attended to by a passing doctor, Wu Weiliang, 53. This saved his life and he was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital when his condition had stabilised.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the man's head, chest and wrist were slashed, with his wrist injury so deep, the aorta was almost severed and the bone exposed.

He had just got married on Valentine's Day this year and on Friday evening, he asked for his wife to be informed of the incident.

The evening daily said she revealed her husband had 'hurt her' and she is currently applying for a personal protection order against him.

She said she was also contemplating divorce, citing reasons that her husband had brought girls home and took her savings without asking.

Mr Huang's mother refused to visit him in hospital, saying he was 'bad'.

Saying he was innocent, Mr Huang also denied his wife's accusations.

A separate report on Lianhe Wanbao checked in with Dr Wu who opened a clinic at Geylang Lorong 23, 'Kang Shi' with a group of friends.

The welfare clinic depends on volunteers and donations to cater to the 1,800 needy, with a consultation fee of just $5, inclusive of medication.
