    plants will usually control algae growth once established.     Wao that is great, all this while I am thinking of to have or not to have floating plants for my tank. Now I know that its can help to prevent algae I am sure to have some floating plants!

    best algae eater is otos. shrimps cannot fight otos.

    those want to play planted tank should try diy co2 (yeast and sugar solution) and then switch to co2 tank. co2 while good for the plants might be bad for other fishes/shrimps etc. main thing is balance. if can afford chiller will be even better.

    $5 - Sakuras? Cherries are cheap, < $0.50. And they breed easily. Normal cherries can be deep red if they are happy in the tank.

    If u want to keep shrimp inside your tank you can't put heater .. Last time I breed CRS shrimps during summer I on my chiller .
