SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 45-year-old man believed to be responsible for several acts of theft from vehicles in Yishun.

From December 24 to 26, the police received several reports of theft from vehicles at carparks in the vicinity of Yishun Avenue 11.

At about 2:30am on December 29, officers arrested the suspect in the same vicinity.

A student's EZ-link card believed to have been taken in one of the cases was found in his possession.

Police believe that the suspect may be involved in at least four cases of theft from vehicles at carparks in Yishun Avenue 11.

The suspect will be charged in Court on Monday for the offence.

If convicted of theft, he faces a jail term of up to three years, or a fine, or both.

Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police (DAC) Keok Tong San says that vehicle owners should secure their vehicles at all times and not leave valuables and cashcards unattended or exposed inside their vehicles.
