Prices soar in scramble for must-have Xmas mini tablet computers

CHRISTMAS shoppers are going mad for mini tablet computers — snapping up an incredible four a second.

Demand is such that the iPad mini and Google’s Nexus 7 have been changing hands on the net for up to £200
above normal price.

And as soon as shops get a fresh batch in, the shelves are immediately cleared.

There is already a two-week waiting list at Apple’s online store — meaning none will be available for Christmas,
though the shops get limited daily stocks which go in a flash.

“Tablets such as the Google Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD and Nook HD have all exploded on to the market with
appealing prices and are selling very well.”

The entry level iPad mini costs £269 — but sellers on eBay are flogging them for far more.

One trader called Photodirect had put 28 of the 16GB Wi-Fi only models for sale for a “buy it now” price of
£458.99. They only had three left.

Google’s Nexus 7 costs £159 for the 16GB version but on eBay last night digigood had sold 124 of them for
£273.
