SINGAPORE: An unemployed man has been charged with causing hurt to an elderly man in a bus.

Kwok Weng Hon, 25, allegedly punched 72-year-old Ng Kim Toh's face in bus service no 147 while the vehicle was travelling along Upper Serangoon Road on 21July this year.

The assault allegedly left Ng with a dislocated nose.

If convicted, Kwok faces a jail term of up to 10 years, fine and even caning.

The case will come up for further mention later this month.

A man was charged in court on Wednesday with breaking the nose of an elderly man on a bus.

Kwok Weng Hon, 25, allegedly punched Mr Ng Kim Toh, 72, on his face which resulted in him sustaining a fracture of his nasal bone on SBSTransit bus service number 147 along Upper Serangoon Road on July 21.

He applied for two weeks to make representations to the Attorney-General's Chambers.

He will be back in court on Nov 28.
