SINGAPORE - Police have arrested nine teenagers aged between 14 and 15 for committing a series of bicycle thefts in Pasir Ris.
On August 17 at about 7.15pm, police were informed that two teenagers had been seen at the void deck of Blk 443 Pasir Ris Drive 6 with a bicycle that had been stolen an hour earlier.
Officers from Bedok Police Division arrived on the scene, where they managed to detain the two suspects and placed them under arrest.
Through follow-up investigations, seven other teenage suspects were arrested in relation to the same series of bicycle thefts.
Seven bicycles believed to have been stolen by the suspects and tools such as spanners believed to have been used in committing the thefts were also seized. Investigations against the nine suspects are ongoing.
If convicted, they may face a fine, imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years, or both.
