You want something closer or further? Remember after LTK took over, WP took 10 years to struggle from where KJ, CSJ and TJS was to where it is now.

But Singkies do not want a new govt. They still want PAP in power and WP to stay opposition.

Nobody ever said the population will go to 8.5 million at all. You are shooting a straw man sir.
5 million was announced 10 years as the terminal population but that has been thrown to the wind. Now the more the better. It is like opium. Once you get addicted you cannot stop. This population has now a mind of its own.

    bro,
the way me look at it, the TFR for the locals of 1.1~1.2 will drop further with the huge influx of people from all over. as the government adds 20~25K new citizens per year, the figure could well go up and the local bred will soon be a thing of the past.

As usual, your fortune telling might prove to be correct. Let's hope there is some negative feedback mechanism that will keep it down.

Th PAP scums cannot be trusted. They keeping shifting the goalposts. Many years ago (cant rem which year), it was projected that the ideal population would be 4 million in year 'X', which was to be 30-50 years later.

This pic shows another talk cock projection. This is from goh chok tong's manifesto 'the next lap' 1991.

When they announced the terminal population, it was exactly what it should be - a terminal population, something you achieve eventually, not something you target in 10 years or something that expanded by itself due to screwed up policies. How then can you explain the failure of infrastructure in practically all areas to catch up. Failed policies, poorly managed infrastructure development are for all to see,
