All I see is one less cop trying to bust me for marijuana smoking

Life is hard for everyone...You make lots of mistakes along the way and at times it feels that everything you do is wrong and everyone is against you...But escaping thru self-murder doesn't look good on anyone nor deserves any pity other then for his/her love ones.

    sorry, sidetrack abit.

2m, 3m or really 23m? 23m is very far for a pistol shot. the old S&W effective range cannot be more than 15m. if u really so good, then u shd be the one represent the nation for the pistol competition instead of that chinaman.

If I were u, I stop bragging about my score and go for full physical checkup. The Police Academy indoor range was poorly ventilated and if u are lau cheow, you shouldbe tested for lead caused ailments and disease. The lead dust flying around in there can cause u all sorts of health issue.

It's definitely more than 15m. Probably closer to 100m.

what has my squeezing the trigger of a revolver got to do with a trigger lock? Do you know what a trigger lock is? Even after I showed u the pic, you don't get it. Goldendragon said he was afraid to sleep with a loaded gun due to the fact his spouse can use it on him. With a trigger lock, you will have the key, and the gun cannot be fired, unless the trigger lock is removed. Therefore, u can keep a loaded gun next to you safely. Otherwise u will have to keep i unloaded. if you wanted to access the gun, its much faster to unlock the trigger lock, rather than load the revolver, even if u have a speedloader nearby.

Sure or not? since when a revolver got lock & key?

I thought it only had a 'safe' lever just like the Colt M 16 rifle.

I am not aware of such locks and keys.

Maybe something like a Chastity Lock back in old England...

Unlike rifles, there's little space to incorporate a safety mechanism into such a tried, tested and proven design. You want safety, unload the rounds and put a thick wired rope bicycle lock through the gun's body when the cylinder is swung out with the pressing forward of the thumb latch(that's not the safety lock of a rifle. It prevents the cylinder from swinging out.) Safer still if possible, pass it through the trigger guard behind the trigger itself. No way to force a loaded cylinder to align with the barrel. No way to pull the trigger. Keep the key in a safe place.

Forgotten where you placed the key? Or the key broke inside the lock itself? You are called out by your boss for an emergency operation? Bring your weapon and show your colleagues and become a legend. Force disciplinary orders will be the last of your problems.

CID officer allegedly shot himself after emotional breakdown

    6 July 2012 12:25 PM | Updated 4:48 PM

(Photo / Screen grab from www.OMY.sg)
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officer that was found dead with a gunshot wound to his head at the Police Cantonment Complex on early Wednesday morning is believed to have shot himself following an emotional breakdown.

The body of Leong Shee Chun, a 38 year-old Senior Station Inspector, was found in the CID office. Mr Leong joined the police force in 1991 and has served the CID for 14 years. Before his death, he helped crack cases involving illegal prostitution, illegal gambling and secret societies.

He left behind his wife and two daughters, aged three and seven. The police said they received a call from Mr Leong’s family at 4.41am the day of his death, asking for help. On the call, his family member said Mr Leong was emotionally distressed and the family was very worried about him.

The police then began searching for him following the leads provided by his family, and found his body in the police complex at 5am. He had a head wound, and his gun was found next to his body. The police found an empty shell and four rounds in his gun.

A police statement said that paramedics declared Mr Leong dead at 5.20am. So far, the police have ruled out foul play. Mr Leong was not on duty at the time of his death. According to Mr Leong’s neighbours, he is said to have been very close to his wife. Based on marriage records, they registered their marriage on 18 March 2003.

Neighbours said that his wife would see him to work every morning, they were often seen chit chatting before Mr Leong goes to work and after he returns. In fact, just two days before the incident, the couple were seen chatting as if all was well. Neighbours said the couple seemed happy and they cannot believe that Mr Leong would even contemplate suicide.

Mr Leong’s wife was at the morgue to identify the body, but declined to comment. During an interview with The Straits Times, Mr Leong’s father has said that his son got along with his sister and brother-in-law quite well. The father had no idea why Mr Leong decided to take his own life.

Seven Singaporeans have walked into Bedok Reservoir since the opening of casinos. It’s really a double whammy for us because not only are we losing our hard-earned money to the casinos, they do not even support the employment of locals! Every table you go, it’s either a Chinese or a Pinoy!

    MC Hammer

And there was one keling-kia cabinet minister who had the audacity to lie to the press that the govt developed the two IRs to provide 60,000 jobs for S'poreans.

Nothing to do with 'steal eat'. No bros here asked if there was a suicide note. Such notes are very common. At least 7 in 10 leave one behind. My guess? Hahahahaa. There was one. Reasons all enumerated in it.

2 days before suicide, newapapers reported neighbours spotted deceased and spouse in happy mood. 2 days later, BANG! A little absurd, isn't it?
Trace back what happened the past 36 hrs before his suicide and the fucking answer is crystal clear.

    Whatever the case, it's tragic.
By right, the firearm has to be with him at all times unless he goes oversea for holidays or under some special condition. Anyway not everyone will follow the standing order.

So he might have left it in office which I don't think is the main issue here.

I believe he did it in office as not to cause alarm to his family, neighbours and the public.

Imagine if his kids were around to see his dad use a gun to shoot himself, that'd be no good for his kids as a setback for whole life.

Not to forget, he did it in office, it's alot easier for his colleague to clean the mess and investigate the cause. So you won't see lots of police cars, police officers and black hearse rushed to a HDB flat and see some ah peks carry a dead body down the flat. And also, when the police IO investigate at the crime scene, all his family members may have to leave the house if the shooting occured at his home.

I don't think this guy want to cause these hassle to his family especially the kids.

This is not the first time policeman shot themselves in the office or other places.

And this will also not be the last time that such thing occurs.

As long as someone gets hold of a pistol, this will happen when his mind is out of control..

Yes, you are right. The office was a convenient place. He was able to converse with his family uninterrupted while in office. No distraction.

And nobody in the whole complex could hear a gun go off? They had to wait till the wife called and then began the search?
    Own VS Owe

If you owe someone money, you must give the money (back) to that person. If you own a car, the car is yours to keep.
