What is the meaning of all this???

Like the ISD, Isn't the CID part of the Singapore Police Force?

The report mentions as if the CID is one "alien" organisation from the SPF. Seems son has forgotten....

In actual fact, the SPF is the father of the CID.

As for ther last paragraph, I agree with the arrests made for gang-related activities, drug abuse and what not BUT I sure had a long laugh when they also included Cig-Smugglers. Should have left it to the Customs and their illegal cig sniffing sleuths...

ISD is not part of SPF. It is a separate entity.

CID is part of SPF. Falls into its organisational structure. The 'problem' you raised was discussed informally in the mid to late 90s. CID wants to be seen as a kilat unit. When SPF is referred, images of uniformed men on patrol comes to mind. Images of young police officers manning the NPPs also come to mind. No big boss then said yes or no to allowing CID to be seen as separate from its father.
