20 motorists arrested for drink-driving

SINGAPORE: Traffic Police arrested 20 motorists for drink-driving in an island-wide anti-drink-driving operation on Thursday.
During the operation from midnight to 4.30am, road blocks were set up along Buangkok East Drive, Upper Bukit Timah Road, Lavender Street, Jalan Toa Payoh, Kallang Road, Outram Road, Clemenceau Ave and Keppel Road to net errant drink drivers.
Police said on Friday that out of the 20 motorists who failed the breathalyser test and were arrested, 18 were male and two were female.
They were aged between 24 and 50.
Police said the highest breathalyser test result clocked was 69 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
The amount is almost two times the prescribed legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.
