A retiree who damaged 16 taxis in a carpark at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) over a two-month period was fined $6,000 on Monday.

Tan Kim Seng, 73, had scratched the cars in March and April last year in anger after losing money in the casino, the court heard.

For his crimes, he faced two charges of 'committing mischief and thereby causing loss or damage to the amount of $500 or upwards'.

He was fined $3,000 for each charge. The other 14 similar charges were taken into consideration in sentencing.

Investigations showed that on the morning of March 14, Tan was seen loitering near a ComfortDelGro taxi in the basement carpark of the casino.
