Hope the tit-for-tat doesn't worsen. SG and MY need the strengthen the symbiotic relationship to meet the new world challenges. Neighbors like PH, VN, KR and soon JP will ride on the casino/integrated resort wave.

There are so many naysayers about Nusajaya and Iskandar these days - I'm confident they will be proven wrong.

So with cashflows n property taken of, I will monitor n wait for RPGT to be minimal for
me, after 2017 @5%. If cashflows are good, will continue to let Somerset manage for
the full 10 years.

hi Dfris,
amazing, you even have a 10-year Masterplan in place!
I heard of horror stories in the past of Singapore property owners in Malaysia: tenant change locks; refuses to move, refuses to pay rent; running away with furniture; anything goes...unintended pun.
So I will most likely (B) leave it empty.

To be candid, there are 10 x more naysayers about Iskandar when it was conceived. 99.9% are Nay-sayers. Only 0.01% who bought are really keen to escape from Singapore as we were horrified by the amount of population squeeze going on back then in Singapore.

I mean, how are you going to convince investors to part with their money on big tract of land in Malaysia back then? It is a cowboy town, the undisputed Criminal Hub of Malaysia and govt flip-flop policies are world renowned and you are telling salesmen to sell thousands of hectares of land littered with palm trees. Nothing was completed so there is zero confidence. Absolutely zero confidence. Back then people buy because they needed a home in Malaysia to escape from the high cost and FT in Singapore. Those days were peak of FTs flooding into Singapore. Chicken rice PRC chick, Cleaners, Peidu mamas etc all got their PR so easily. Not forgetting our $40 million dollar Chinaman who get PR so easily.

Getting Singapore PR is as easy as buying toilet paper in Giant @ IMM back then. Now I am glad they are much stricter but the damage has been done.

Its a sad case really to even think that in Singapore, only 40% are true-blue Citizens.

Its a serviced residence. I wouldn't expect it to be like Raffles Hotel or MBS.

But bro, you told us previously that we can expect the room rate to be RM1000 per night!!??

RM1000 for lame interior and sub-standard services meh?

JB, one can stay at 3-star Pariss Hotel at RM150, next to Jusco Bukit Indah, and drive 5 minutes to PH, somemore can enjoy the Pariss spa
