Spore's City Development Kwek leng Beng says he has some land at dirt cheap price in Iskandar.
He's just waiting for time to ripe!

".....One area which CDL may expand into is in the Iskandar region in Johor Bahru.

Mr Kwek said that may take some time as Iskandar, three times the size of Singapore, is only 20 per cent developed.

Mr Kwek said: "Many of you have you have forgotten that CDL in the old days still has some land within the Iskandar Region which were held at a dirt cheap price you can never dream of buying today. We are looking into this. I want Iskandar to be more developed before I capitalize on this land."

This is good news on 2 counts:

1) Iskandar is finally getting the attention of Singapore developers. First CapitaLand and now CDL. More will follow.

2) Mr. Kwek is expecting the prices to keep going North. Given the land was purchased at dirt cheap prices, he may easily capitalize very well at today's prices and with the kind of market sentiments. He may actually get a premium for being CDL. However, he wants to wait ........

Best news since the high speed train, nice find, I have been waiting for a reason to head back over and check out the Teega site and get some pics, I think a beer at the Sky Bar will make it worth while (I can only drink so much lechee juice at the café)

As excited as I am, i dont think they are open yet. Before you guys head down, make sure it is open. Looks like they are just beginning to create their website. I hope it opens soon though.

One of their concerns may be the Imperia construction site just behind. But then, not sure what they can do about it, other than offering deep discounts for rooms facing Imperia, as it has at least 2 years to go.

My Booking cheque was cashed right away, lawyer was Othman.
I called UEM Rep last week about the deposit he tells me they are waiting for final Gov approval of the plans before they can cash the deposit cheque. Good news her confirms no major plan changes so no need for buyer approvals and more delays.
