Speaking of compound bow, this "Liberty I Ultra Compact bow" seems to be pretty small and may come in handy. http://www.libertyarchery.com/

There's a video clip as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1aP_gKlQd-s

Should drop by Danga City Mall for some bull eye's training.

Nice, actually the nicest one that i have shot with is the black diamond. One model basically covers someone as young as 6-7 to as old as 80 as it covers different draw lengths as well as different weights.

The Diamond Razor Edge offers some new features that were unheard of until today. Not only do you get a full package bow with accessories but you get huge amounts of adjustability. The Diamond Razor Edge comes in 2 sizes and offers an adjustable draw weight from 15 to 29 lbs OR 30 lbs all the way to 60 lbs on one set of limbs. You also get 19 to 29 inches of draw length adjustment built right on the cam. No longer do you have to deal with limb swap or cam upgrades. This package will grow with the shooter.

The bow is Hardwoods Grey and comes with the following accessories. Truglo Sight, Hostage rest, Diamond Quiver, Wrist Sling and a peep sight. Just add arrows and a release and you are ready to shoot.

Diamond Razor Edge SpecificationAxle-To-Axle - 31"
IBO Speed - 308 fps at 29 inches 60 lbs.
Brace Height - 7"
Mass Weight - 3.3 lbs.
Draw Length - 19 - 29 inches
Draw Weight: 15-30 lbs. or 30-60 lbs.

http://www.diamondarchery.com/

PSE covers a lot of hunting and has one of the fastest bows around.
Hoyt has a lot of competition bows but has good solid all rounders as well
Browning has some for starters and then some
Matthews is also quite good for general stuff

Bows are really good and handy, doesn't need license. The Danga city mall place is owned by the same great guy (Mr Mark) who has his place in Sutera mall, JB Archery. He offers training and maintenance tips too when you buy his bows. Good to get silencers for your bow as well as the hunting type - Whisker Biscuit which holds the arrow snugly while you wait.

Only for foreigners, so even if you have 1 foreigner out of 4 who are sharing one property, you have to pay the 10k.
In this case though, we were lucky as they already did give us about 14k off as well as free stamp duty (even with banks)
and all legal fees. Also, my sister tested them by calling them, seems really no freebies plus price went up for the remaining
units. This is for non-residential unit and marks my first foray into this market, so not so familiar but managed to sort things out.

U can also train at the archery shop at sutera mall, basement....

Yes, they were on the 3rd floor in the past, back then they had dedicated compound bows as well as recurve. Same owner for both.
He specialises in compound more but is competent enough to teach both. Compound gets easier even for those with some minor
disability as the cams will help you to hold the weight until you decide to left off.

One public annoucement about swords and bows:

NEVER buy a stainless steel weapon more than 12 inches long and use it for self defence - Anything more than 12 inches and made of stainless steel is brittle and unless its made of 440C stainless steel, it will be liable to shatter or break.

NEVER touch the blade of a real sword (carbon steel/folded steel) with your finger tips as it will corrode the sword. TV always teaches people crap about handling swords

NEVER test the keeness of a sword by sliding your finger tips over it especially with your thumbs, again i blame TV for this misinformation.

NEVER use a sword that rattles in its handle or if the hilt assembly is not stable.

There is no real Ninja sword, ancient ninjas used everything and even regular samurai swords as part of their job. Anything to get the job done.

NEVER draw a bow WITHOUT an arrow or a safety device and then let off, the bow may break or at least be severely damaged and may more than likely injure you. This is again another TV thing that tells you to draw and let off.

Back when i first came out here, i was still worried about safety for the family. I made sure i drilled them in guns (in SG) as well as bows (in JB) so everyone knows what to do in terms of emergency and plus there are good sports to discipline the mind. This is as i have brought my family including dad, mum to a few countries where if i throw them a sidearm (in extreme emergencies) they will know what to do so if there is really danger, i want them to be able to protect themselves whichever country we go.

Suddenly archery intrigued my interests, now that u have fed us with so much info.

Never ever thought of trying, every time I walked past.

It's now a different story in the perspective of picking up a "skill" for security. I will give it a try this weekend and see how it goes

Thanks for sharing!

Just wondering what wrong I have made for giving info on majestec. Few points got snipped without reason. Doesn't cause any harm to me but if I can understand what I have done wrong, I will try not to repeat again. If u wanna snip my points, at least let me know the reason. Thanks

Bro don't give it another thought! You have proved to be giving good and helpful Infor. Your points will continue to come in by those who appreciate......

On the contrary , i find the "Majestic" very useful and i am happy to learn this from u... and from this tread.

Agree, it was useful information, i too wanted to share that as i saw a brochure with it once. I think its always good to learn more.

Wah.. Parang ok? A bit smaller but equally deadly..

Parang is fine but if they are holding something the same, you want to be longer than them or at least have more reach.
That said though, in a typical house and in confined quarters, shorter sometimes means faster as lesser things to snag on.

In this case, actually a golf club would be better, like a good driver. Can put in the car trunk too.

When you brandish your weapon, you must end it quickly. Either by deterrence or ending the fight quickly and move on
to the next guy. Flowery moves or steps that are ineffective must be minimized.

I see. Can u share more on the arrows? QUOTE]

Normally just use for practise and competition but still enough. Some people can put 3-4 arrows into a target in the same time it takes for another to shoot one so training and practice is key.

Thanks bro for sharing. Can clarify on the "9 Malaysians". Were u referring to group purchase or 9 Malaysian wives? Haha

Btw, If I buy 2 contiguous units concurrently, am I to pay 2 times the levy? In another words, is levy pegged to per purchase basis, or per unit basis?

Thanks!

Hahaha, i wish but my wife won't allow. In the end, it became 12.
Yes you have to pay twice in this scenario on a per unit basis.

Hahahha. Never mind the chicken/turkey, I help u clear out the bats at your taman first

There are different types of points, your first arrow should be one with a wire head meant for chicken/turkey. So there will be no fowl play involved. (my apologies, couldn't help)

Calling for help from guards and law enforcement is still the best.

Thanks, i have hanged up my bows long ago. I was into serious fishing years back. Now have put aside the rods too.
I won't take a life unless i absolutely have to so the bats here are safe from me (at least).
