Without NS, Singaporeans would not have such good work ethics and discipline. NS training also make Singaporeans more law abiding which is why we have such low crime rate.
The Taiwanese only need 4 months to train to be a soldier instead of 2 years. And they are moving to voluntary service. Taiwan government have faith in Taiwanese male loyalty.
