I missed an opportunity buying private when my HDB was less than 3 years. Otherwise I could have pocketed at least SGD200k-300k profit in shorter time.

What you said about Great Wall really hits me. haha I was studying in Europe and at my backyard was a wellknown Zoo (surprisingly the Zoo is in the city). I've never been there despite having spent 7 years there. OMG before I left I just realized I should have visited it :)

Buy resale HDB when good time arrives if you can't enjoy the 1st HDB home. After that think of buying overseas home.

DREAMorACTION, 10k is very little for 500k home. Dont' save 10k and regretting 490k. Don't be pressued by discount. Forget the discount and think. I never buy home because attracted to free this and that. To me it is minimal. My consideration always whether I buy still within value and...

Personally I would recommend you to buy home in Singapore first. If you pay large overseas installment, and HDB has many restriction of owning private residential, you would never own any SG home.

This blog sums up exactly my thought: http://horizonhills.wordpress.com/2011/12/08/so-you-wanna-buy-a-house-in-hh/ I'm not a Malaysian property expert because in fact I research Malaysian property for less than 2 weeks. But that doesn't mean I can't get sufficient information through the field...

Therefore I would not buy SG property right now. see this coverage today: The Edge did a useful coverage of high-end properties in the Cairnhill area, which shows the excruciatingly slow pace of take-ups at several condo developments, largely undertaken by listed companies. - One of the most...

lastresort, thanks for clarification. But I mean, it was just taken out from the property site. But I believe there are so many similar deals where one still can get decent price in KL. What I want to stress is that the premium Nusajaya development being offered to foreigners especially...

I've decided to pull out of my JB property hunt as I feel it is being priced at premium. - Nusajaya location isn't yet mature and the land is 3x of singapore. - The rental market is poor and with the flood of Singaporean money into Nusajaya or surrounding, this create the surge in supply. This...

I check rental rates in Malaysia sucks big time as compared to its property prices. Some condos value of RM500k rent out only less than RM1.5k/month. Nusajaya properties seems to be sold at premium. I see properties around Johor with equal comfort level is sold at least at 40% discount.

Re: causeway link bus Bro Nusajaya, Diaspora, and others... thanks for your mind advice. It is in fact good to ask myself what I need or want. What I don't need: - I don't need a place for stay (other than my current place) for next 20-25 years. At least I believe, I should work for this...
