Yes. It is a freshwater shrimp found in this part of the world (S.E and East Asia). Locally we call it Udang Galah.

Cheers!

You can also fish this kind of prawns at many rivers in Malaysia.. But a word of caution when fishing big prawns like this.. Usually where there are many big prawns in a river, there are also crocodiles.. Big prawns love to attach themselves on the body of a croc as they would feed the algae found on the bodies those monsters..

Bro, we're all part of the food chain. They happen to be lower down the line. However if you drowned in the river, you become their food too, or the croc, or the turtle's, depending who got there first.

Cheers!

Poor animals. They have the right to live.

You always give unintelligent example.. Are you trying too hard? When u drown and the animal feed on u, that is not intentional eating.

The only food chain a human to be in is just plant-> human.. Period.

Aren't these Mantis Shrimp?

Mantis Shrimp are delicious. I love them. I would always order them when I am at G7 restaurant in Geylang.

This used to be called Muar Prawns. when I was young, we used to drive to muar to eat them there. there were restaurants right by the river that serve it. Absolutely delicious. I think they are commercially farmed in Vietnam now.
