Hi future neighbour Lennyjames,

Since many of you have been staying in East Ledang for so long, do you know how our security fence work?
As in, will any alarm be triggered when an intruder either;
1) Climb over the fence
2) Cut the fence
3) Blind the video camera

Has any alarm been triggered so far in 2 years?
Or there isn't any such alarm at all except for the alarm in each individual house.
Because if there isn't any such alarm for the outer fencing, it means that we have to depend on the constant eye surveillance of the guards on duty which is totally useless as no one guard will really be watching the monitor screen whole day.

Hello Investor! I believe the system on the fence between P1 and P2 holds just a regular surveillance system, so unless the guards are not watching the monitor, there is a chance that someone could climb over the fence. However, we can attest that the roving guards (on bikes) are frequent (about 30 minute intervals) and they are pretty strict about letting people through the main guard gate. All my friends have been stopped and will only be allowed in when the guards get my confirmation.

We have not heard of an intrusion (or an attempted one) at EL for the past 2 years but we still take our precautions to deter attracting attention to our place. Plus our "killer" dogs bark at everything that passes our home.

Since our home is right next to P2, we were rather cautious of the fact that the workers "could" climb the fence, but so far, so good and we are happy to say that there have been no such events. I feel that security is one of the top concerns out here - they can't afford a bad incident with all the investments coming in.

Hi Investor,

I have been to EL quite a few times actually, some friends actually stayed there before. The fences are anti cut and anti climb but do not have IR sensors and there aren't any vibration activated sensors either. Same goes for HH fencing. In the early days, folks PM about some workers climbing over but then again, every development will have some form of this in very early stages including HH. In fact before i brought folks to HH, i tend to bring them to EL first for the wow factor. I shared with them the price premium and why its a better place than HH and then let them decide. Some bought EL, some HH and some bought others. I didn't really bother too much as its up to them.

Probably EL is ok, adding in an IR sensor will make it that much better as it will trigger an alarm which a guard can then be alerted to sound the alarm, etc. I have tried to enter EL earlier in the very early postings about EL and it passed the penetration test hands down. The guards should still be quite reliable given that recently i went there and had to explain and call in order to be let in.

Hi Lennyjames,

Thank you very much for sharing
So far you've mentioned about the temporary fencing between phases, what about the permanent outer perimeter ELSIS (Security Intelligence System)? Do you have any idea whether any alarm will be activated to alert the guards in case of attempted intrusion of outer perimeter via cutting or climbing?

Hi Wuqi,

Thank you very much for sharing too.
How can we know whether or not they have IR sensors? East Ledang's marketing brochure about their security system stated that there is IR sensor to detect motion in darkness, they even claimed to have motion sensor in the day too. If they didn't install the IR sensor, maybe we residents can question them about it since it is stated in their brochure?

if there is sensor, you can see something placed on top of the fence, at the two ends...that is what I saw at Setia De Grande...understand that will detect any motion betw the two ends, including birds flying across the fence...

Re: East Ledang, Ledang Heights, Ujana and Impiana Community

The M1 signal in Phase 1 is pretty good, especially at my second floor. On average, I get 3-4 bars.

Great! I thought Singtel has a better signal in EL. If the M1 signal is as good, I will remain a M1 user. Is starhub's any good?

I think it is due to the direction we face (EDIT - "South East" facing has the best signal for me). I also have a Starhub line and I still get a signal, though it is not strong (1-2 bars). However, it could be just that the phone on Starhub is crappy (old iPhone 3G). I will try swapping the SIM cards to see if it is just the phone.

Yes, its normally a short black one at two ends. Sensitivity can be tweaked but normally yes for birds sitting on the fence, etc. Thats why having this in conjunction with barbed wire will be better as birds are less likely to sit or fly near it.

Mainly Singtel and M1 have better reception here according to my friends experience as well.
